I just saw your course listed on techie diva.

I do not come from the fashion background but I am creating an online course for people in the mobile phone industry. I own a consulting company here and I work with multi-national companies and federal government agencies creating and building innovative programs and strategies for them so that they can have completely 'mobile and wireless' workforces. I am working on a part of my company now, one of my corporate websites can be found here: www.smartphoneinstitute.com and I am adding on a part to the website for a self-certification course for people who would like to become trainers as we have such poor customer service here in the states. So I am training a new breed of people that are going to be sensitive and knowledgeable (what a challenge)!!! My course will be around 20 weeks long, and will have video, audio and written exercises (so that it cannot be easily copied), I have done extensive research and I have found that most 'niche' online courses such as your fashion course usually cost around $2,500 to $3,000 USD. So when I saw your course listed for $271 I was thinking this cannot be accurate.

I am not sure how long your organization has been in existence but it says the program creator has 20+ years experience. This is something that is a big deal in the U.S. . That many years of experience in one industry builds automatic credibility for you. I only have 12 years experience in my field, but I am also only 34 years of age. I can collect $350-500 USD for just one hour of consulting. And this is not uncommon for many consultants here in the U.S. doing specialized work. In the case of fashion design, that is specialized. People in the states that are buying your course, would probably pay $250 USD on 1 pair of shoes that are probably considered basic shoes in Italy!!!! :) So you may want to consider the following notes for the U.S. market only. Maybe you can make a different website for U.S. Market. People who shop for courses here or most anything and do not see things that are 'competitively' priced often think it is a 'scam' or something. You also have to take into consideration of your time with people calling or writing in to ask questions about the program or if later you want to create new business opportunities. For example if you wanted to take different chapters and exercises from your programs and then market and promote them as independent courses. So you can do a course on designing for children, or designing lingerie, or building your portfolio or interviewing. There are so many add-on courses you can build from this but it all comes down to the valye of your time and how much time you have to create these. You know once you start making so much $$$ and selling so many courses, then people are going to want you to speak at their schools and events and write for their newspapers and be interviewed on their TV program. Then it comes down to if you have enough $$$ to hire staff persons and others who can help you write and build these new courses.


I know for courses in the U.S. we do not even get a CD because people want to try to figure out ways to copy and re package your products and ideas and sell them for cheaper or maybe more. So to get people to buy your program who are truly and sincerely interested in your program and get it from the source and the expert (you are from MILANO) it is like WOW! to so many people here. So you can charge more just for that :) Definitely from looking at your website, I say your course should retail for minimum $499, average $699. And people can pay in 3 installments of something. Most people online looking for such a program can put the total charge on their credit card anyway. It is cheaper than a plasma TV or a laptop computer. And it is must cheaper than going to school and deciding after 2 semesters you can't make it and want to drop out. Also you tell a lot about your program. Maybe this is also a cultural thing but usually in states we would see a list of some benefits:

So it would say, order today and look at all you get and it would be listed in bullet points. Maybe it is cheesy American marketing :) But that is how our millionaires made it. Think Niche, Grow Rich!
